Join us for a thrilling weekend filled with adrenaline on the curves of Italy’s most extreme spot. Ghost Town Freeride is back for its 7th edition, bringing together longboarders, skaters, and rock music enthusiasts for an unforgettable experience in the abandoned city of Consonno. This event will breathe life into the mysterious ghost town, driving away the spirits.
Over 120 riders worldwide and 8 punk bands will gather for two days of freeriding, showcasing the skater’s culture and mentality. Expect action-packed moments with crashes, broken boards, and plenty of pogo dancing.
The event kicks off on Friday, June 16th, at 6:00 PM with the opening of the skate area, live music, and food trucks. Registration and welcome activities for riders will take place throughout the weekend.
Freeride activities will be held on Saturday and Sunday, accompanied by live music and street art. Enjoy the thrilling longboard downhill rides on a 1.3 km route reserved exclusively for registered FISR members. Safety gear, including helmets and protective equipment, is mandatory.
Skateboard enthusiasts can participate in the mini ramp and street zone contests on Saturday evenings. Categories include Under 14, Women, and Adults. Registration for the competitions is free, and participants must be registered FISR athletes. The skateboard area will be open on Friday and Saturday from 6:00 PM until late.
The event will be accompanied by the energetic sounds of eight punk bands, creating a unique atmosphere. During the freeride, the second corner will turn into a stage where bands will perform, adding to the adrenaline rush. In the evening, the music will continue in Consonno Square with various DJs and music genres to accompany the skate contests.
Street art enthusiasts can showcase their skills and creativity at the starting wall. Spray paints will be available for participants to create their own pieces. Street art workshops will be organized on Saturday, providing insights and tips on spray can techniques.
Sunday morning offers additional activities for participants to explore and enjoy. Choose from guided excursions, open-day longboarding/skateboarding sessions, yoga sessions, or mountain biking on Consonno’s trails. Registration for these activities is free and can be done on-site.
Consonno, the venue for Ghost Town Freeride, is an actual abandoned city. Please note that there is no electricity, WiFi, or ATM services. The nearest services can be found in Olginate, approximately 2 km away. Showers will be available for registered riders from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Consonno Square. Food trucks and a bar will be open throughout the event, providing refreshments.
Free camping is available on Friday and Saturday for registered participants in the designated camping area. Visitors can access Consonno from Galbiate, and pedestrian access to the freeride route will be allowed upon staff guidance.
Parking is available along the road near the Freeride starting point and Consonno Square. If arriving by train, the nearest station is Calolziocorte, approximately a 20-minute walk from the road to Consonno.
Ghost Town Freeride is supported by the Italian Skateboarding Commission (FISR) and regulated by the federation’s rules. The event is patronized by Regione Lombardia and supported by various sponsors, partners, and media partners.
